ECOKRAFT - Reference customer Heiss Energie Wood chips to energy pellets

ECOKRAFT - Reference customer Heiss Energie Wood chips to energy pellets

The family-run company Heiss Energie from Schnaitsee has made it its business to produce high-quality energy pellets from wood chip waste residues. Heiss Energie's core business began 20 years ago with a biogas plant and biogas power generation. Soon the waste heat of the plant was used to dry the wood chips. Nowadays, Heiss Energie has specialized in blowing in wood chips at the customer's site. In the process, a share of residual dust and small particles of the wood chips always accumulates. However, since the company did not want to simply dispose of this valuable waste residue, it was looking for a solution on how to generate a useful product from it again. Thus the idea of pelletizing and converting them into heating pellets was born. Today, 10% of the company's turnover can be attributed to pellet production - and the trend is rising. For Tobias Heiss, not only energy costs play a major role, but also sustainability. Because many customers would like to be more independent of oil and gas imports from abroad in the future and buy more regionally. By expanding the product range to include the production of energy pellets, Tobias Heiss was able to position himself more broadly, which was a benefit for him. Because the concentration on renewable raw materials such as wood pellets, can be combined very well with the fuel trade. Since the pelletizing plants of ECOKRAFT are designed for small and medium-size enterprises, thus also a small medium-size enterprise such as Heiss Energie, has the possibility to buy such a plant and must not invest millions into a large industrial plant.
ECOKRAFT - Reference customer Landi Moossee Spelt hulls to animal bedding pellets

ECOKRAFT - Reference customer Landi Moossee Spelt hulls to animal bedding pellets

Landi is a nationwide agricultural cooperative in Switzerland that has existed for over 135 years. The processing of spelt is a large branch of this cooperative. As the amount of spelt husk produced during the husking process grew from year to year, a solution was sought to convert this husk back into a valuable product. They quickly came up with the idea of processing the husk into pellets after husking and then returning them to the agricultural ecocycle as animal bedding. The biggest advantage of pelleting is that you have 5 times less volume and the bedding pellets are dust-free, which is especially important in chicken or beef cattle houses and in horse stalls, due to allergies. Ecokraft's pelleting system met all the criteria for Landi Moossee. One of the biggest challenges was the very tight space conditions. Because Ecokraft's pelleting plant can be set up very flexibly, it was possible to install a tailor-made plant for Landi Moossee. This resulted in an effective plant in a very small space, which was perfectly integrated into the overall system. The plant is facilitated by an electronic control system and the clear display on the pellet mill, which allows all data to be read off. Another argument in favor of the cooperative was that everything came from a single source, which meant that they only had one contact person for questions. At Landi, the topic of sustainability is very important and with these high-quality animal bedding pellets, the cycle of an organic substance is optimally closed again. For Landi Moossee it was a very good decision to invest in the Ecokraft pelleting plant and the satisfaction of both customers and producers is high.
ECOKRAFT - Reference customer PerNaturam Herbs and herb mixtures to animal feed pellets

ECOKRAFT - Reference customer PerNaturam Herbs and herb mixtures to animal feed pellets

The successful company PerNaturam from Gödenroth is a manufacturer of natural feed supplements for dogs, cats and horses. The main competence of PerNaturam are mostly herbs, which have an incredible volume. Therefore, the company has been using pellets for some time to compress the volume but also to bind dust. Especially in the supplementary feed sector, certain substances have to be balanced and here pelleting has proven to be very effective. A pelleting plant from Ecokraft is used for this purpose. The reasons for this were obvious to PerNaturam: the plant is flexible, modular and has short changeover times with a higher throughput. In addition, the pelleting plant is operated in-house by only one trained person, another advantage that is highly appreciated. The company relies on high-quality ingredients, herbs and other blends, which are then processed into high-quality pellets in the plant on an almost daily basis. Pellet production now accounts for 20% of total production. This also offers many advantages for the customer, because the pellets, unlike loose herbs, are easier to feed, handle and store. The goal of PerNaturam is to extend the animal feed with vegetables, herbs and raw fibers so that everything the animal needs is represented in the bowl. The feed pellets are also packaged using a bagging plant from Ecokraft. PerNaturam is also already playing with the idea of a second plant in order to obtain double the output. This is the right step to take in order to continue offering customers healthy and species-appropriate animal feed in a practical and easy-to-handle form.

Sustainability has always played an important role for Markus Hoffmann from Wolferstadt. It all started back in 2010 with his own solar park. After a short time, however, the question arose as to whether the solar park should be mowed or grazed. And so Markus Hofmann decided to graze it naturally with a special breed, the Shropshire sheep. However, this solution soon led to a new problem: where to put all the sheep wool? For a long time he had to dispose of it for a fee, as he could not find any buyers. But he was no longer satisfied with this, as the wool was a valuable natural product for him. After some research, he found out that sheep wool can also be pelletized. And so he went in search of a suitable pelletizing plant. In the process, he came across the company ECOKRAFT and was very quickly convinced of the plant due to the wide range of materials that can be pelletized with it. In 2019, he invested in the first pelletizing solution and has since been pelletizing the wool of his own sheep and of colleagues. This has enabled him to produce a sustainable, chemical-free and high-quality fertilizer from the wool that he would otherwise have had to dispose of for 200 euros per ton, which he now also sells to small-scale and hobby gardeners as a regionally sustainable product. Sheep wool pellets have a variety of positive fertilizing characteristics and are therefore ideal for all plants. They are easy to dose, 100% organic without any chemical additives, store water over a long period of time and slowly release the nutrients to the plants. This also prevents the plant from being burned. In 2021, Markus invested in a second ECOKRAFT pelleting plant and now also pelletizes more than just sheep wool. As part of a contract pelleting service, he offers the complete range of what customers want, from hay, straw, various mixtures, insect droppings or soybean pods. In a packaging plant, also from ECOKRAFT, the company's own pellets and those of customers are being packed in various bundles and big bags. The business is going well and he is very happy with his decision. In the future, the Hofmanns plan to put another plant into operation.
ECOKRAFT - Reference customer Taunus Pellets Various materials to high quality premium pellets

ECOKRAFT - Reference customer Taunus Pellets Various materials to high quality premium pellets

Heating - Feeding - Fertilizing! This is the slogan of the company Taunus Pellets from Gemmerich. The history of Taunus Pellets already began in 2005 with a firewood trade. Since then, many things have changed. The idea of sustainability has always been at the top of the list. The original idea of converting various materials into high-quality pellets came from the sawdust produced during the firewood trade. At that time, Pierre von der Heidt was looking for a sensible utilization for this valuable waste material and thus came across Ecokraft's pelletizing plant. One of the greatest advantages for Taunus Pellets is the versatility of the flexible and modular pelleting plant, which covers the entire range, from shredding to bagging. This is because it is not only possible to pelletize wood, but also other materials such as straw, hay, miscanthus, sheep's wool, and many more. This opened up further, new income opportunities for Taunus Pellets. The company gradually expanded its range of products and, in addition to energy pellets, now also produces bedding for large and small animals from wood, miscanthus and straw, as well as hay cobs and treats for horses and rabbits, for example. Many different products, all of which can be produced with just one pelleting line. Above all, shepherds from the region are happy that they can now profitably pelletize their wool at Taunus Pellets and sell it as fertilizer instead of having to dispose of it at a charge. Sustainability and a wide range of products - these are the mainstays of Taunus Pellets. With the pelleting plant from Ecokraft, the company feels well equipped for the future.

ECOKRAFT - Walnut shells to energy pellets

ECOKRAFT - Walnut shells to energy pellets

The pelletization of walnut shells into energy pellets offers a sustainable and efficient solution for the use of biomass as a renewable energy source. Walnut shells are a by-product of the nut industry and are often considered waste. However, pelletization can convert these shells into high-quality energy pellets that can be used in a variety of ways. A major benefit of pelleting walnut shells is the reduction of waste. Instead of simply disposing of the shells, they can be processed into compact pellets in a pelleting process. This not only saves space, but also reduces the environmental impact of disposal. Energy pellets made from walnut shells also have a high calorific value. They can be burned in special pellet stoves or boilers to generate heat. This makes them a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels such as oil or gas. Burning walnut shell pellets also produces fewer CO2 emissions, which helps reduce the greenhouse effect. Another advantage of pelleting walnut shells is the ease of handling and storage. The pellets have a high density and are therefore easy to transport and store. They take up less space than loose shells and can be stored in large quantities to provide a continuous energy supply. In addition, walnut shell pellets are a renewable energy source. Since walnuts are harvested every year, the shells are regularly available as raw material. This makes walnut shell pelleting a sustainable option that helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
ECOKRAFT - Hay and coffee residues to energy pellets

ECOKRAFT - Hay and coffee residues to energy pellets

The conversion of agricultural residues into renewable energy sources is a crucial step towards sustainability. Hay and coffee waste generated during various agricultural processes can offer a practical and environmentally friendly solution through their conversion into energy pellets. Hay is a common byproduct of agricultural forage production, while coffee waste originates from coffee processing and roasting. Instead of disposing of these wastes, they can be utilized as valuable resources for producing energy pellets. This sustainable utilization reduces the reliance on traditional fossil fuels and decreases environmental impact. Hay and coffee waste possess significant energy potential. They contain organic materials that release energy when burned. By converting hay and coffee waste into energy pellets, these valuable energy resources can be efficiently utilized. Advantages of conversion into energy pellets: a) Energy pellets made from hay and coffee waste serve as a renewable energy source. They help reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. b) The conversion of hay and coffee waste into energy pellets decreases the amount of agricultural waste and contributes to waste reduction. This is an important step in promoting a sustainable circular economy. c) Hay and coffee waste are often locally available, allowing them to be used as a regional energy source. This promotes the local economy and reduces transportation costs.

ECOKRAFT - Alpaca manure to fertilizer pellets

ECOKRAFT - Alpaca manure to fertilizer pellets

Alpacas, are a domesticated camel species originating from the South American Andes, which is mainly bred for its wool. The wool of alpacas has been used in Peru for a very long time to make high-quality, robust and above all warming textiles. But not only the alpaca wool is a high quality raw material, but also the alpaca dung. Because the "alpaca gold" or "black gold", as the alpaca dung is also often called, has the highest and most balanced nutritional value of all animal manure. The dried excreta of alpacas has excellent fertilizing characteristics and is one of the best organic natural fertilizers. Alpaca manure is used in not only flower pots, planters or large scale gardens. But agriculture has also already discovered this unique fertilizer. Since the alpaca dung is not strong, it can be used directly and is particularly suitable for sensitive plants, such as roses, tomatoes, lettuces, zucchinis, pumpkins, peppers or orchids. If the alpaca manure is converted into valuable organic fertilizer pellets, it can also be sold in stores or online. In pellet form it can be dosed for end customers and is easier to apply to plants. Further advantages of alpaca manure and its transformation into fertilizer pellets: - High levels of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium(K). - Low water content compared to other fertilizers - Absolutely pure organic fertilizer with no added chemicals - No burning of plants and flowers as with chicken and pigeon droppings - Alpaca manure has very low odor - No foreign seeds due to the efficient digestive system of alpacas - Easy resale in small and large units - Savings in storage space, due to extreme volume reduction - Savings in transport and disposal costs - Savings in fertilizer costs, through self-sufficiency - Additional income opportunity, through the sale of the pellets - Easy dosage
ECOKRAFT - Sheep wool to premium organic fertilizer pellets

ECOKRAFT - Sheep wool to premium organic fertilizer pellets

Sheep wool is obtained through the annual shearing, during which a sheep is lightened by about four kilograms, depending on the breed and age. Each year, the approximately 1.5 million sheep registered in Germany provide about 8,000 tons of wool. Worldwide, the figure is as high as 2.2 million tons, most of which comes from Australia, China, New Zealand and Argentina. Nowadays, sheep breeders hardly get paid for wool from standard sheep breeds. The demands on wool have become so high that only a small part is used for textile processing. Sheep farmers have to pay a lot of money for the disposal of the leftover raw wool. This is because, according to EU standards, raw wool is considered K3-material, i.e. waste and slaughter material. In order to be allowed to process and sell wool at all, it must first be sanitized, i.e. heated to at least 70 degrees. A good solution to produce a high-quality product from this wool is pelleting. In this process, the hygienized raw wool is first shredded with a special cutting mill and then pressed in a pellet mill to produce high-quality premium organic fertilizer pellets. With the help of a bagging plant, the pellets can then be packaged in doses and sold profitably afterwards. Due to the many positive properties of sheep wool, sheep wool pellets are ideal as fertilizer for all plants. Advantages of sheep wool pellets: - Long term fertilizer - Made from 100% unwashed sheep wool - Stores 3 times its own weight in water - Keeps away slugs, voles and wild boars - Protects against ground frost - Environmentally friendly and sustainable - Provides all necessary nutrients - Strengthens the plant - Protects against soil erosion - Nitrogen (N) over 10% - Good and easy dosage

It is a very useful plant and is therefore used in cooking, natural medicine and in the garden. As a nettle liquid manure, it can even replace artificial fertilizers and pesticides. Nettle is also excellent as a food - not only because of its abundance of vital substances, but also because of its excellent taste. Nettle contains more vitamin C than citrus fruits and is also rich in minerals such as iron, potassium, magnesium and secondary plant substances such as flavonoids. It is therefore also known as a medicinal plant for a variety of uses. Among them are: - Prevention of urinary tract and prostate diseases - Improvement of the immune system - Detoxifying & purifying - Digestive - Anti-inflammatory - Diuretic - Antispasmodic - Circulation stimulating - Pain relieving Due to its many positive properties, nettle is also a very popular infusion drink and is therefore often drunk as nettle tea. Nettle tea has a diuretic effect. This helps against urinary tract infections and can stop a developing cystitis. To make nettle tea, the young shoots are cut off at the base and the tiny spines are removed. The leaves are then dried and chopped. The chopping of the dried nettles produces very fine, sometimes even pulverized residual material, which is not suitable as loose material or for filling into tea bags due to its consistency and volume. By pelletizing this nettle powder into tea pellets and a subsequent chopping in a pellet cutter machine, the complete surplus residual material of the nettle can be used.
